Evaluating studio furniture broadcasting engineers quite often had to deal with commercially available office furnitures with all their drawbacks and disadvantages. Custom made woodwork was time consuming, expensive and caused a lot of construction work. These custom made designs were quite seldom performing the way as originally intended and the ergonomy of the furniture was sometimes quite inadequate. MEDIA ENGINEERING now has developed MEFUR, a new standardized and modular studio furniture, especially made for applications in radio broadcasting and preproduction studios. It is equipped with all construction details for a simplified installation and comfortable wiring. MEFUR is robust modular of a modern design easy to install a complete solution for an old problem BASIC CONCEPT There are six table modules available: rack with 19"-profiles table 70cm x 50cm table 70cm x 70cm table 70cm x 120cm 90° angular table 45° angular table and-additionally to all of these-separate double overbridges All frame elements are made in black painted steel held together by 6mm screws. They can be self assembled easily with only one screwdriver! To provide fo a quick and comfortable access for maintenance in the studio the table tops are just laying on the steel frame, held by a special adhesive tape. All wooden parts are painted in anthracite NEXTEL™. Other colours and/or materials are available according to customers choice. CONSTRUCTION In a usual construction there is one rack to which several table elements are added on the left and/or on the right side. In order to have more space for devices like CD players etc. double overbridge modules can be mounted on top of the table elements wherever necessary. The bridge modules provide 40mm space between the upper and the lower wooden plate so that standardized studio modules sized 40 x 190mm (e.g. PPM/VU meters, pushbuttons, lamps, displays etc.) can be mounted. ADD-ONS Several add-ons are available for special applications: drawer for computer keyboard mounting kit for built-in computer monitor meterbridge housing 19" rack mounts cut outs in wooden plates for built-in devices and many more MEFUR is the perfect choice for a good-looking and well-devised studio furniture with the possibility to extend it later in all three axes.
